Shared ownership is a part-buy, part-rent homeownership scheme, backed by the Government. You can usually buy as little as 35% or as much as 75% of a property and then pay a subsidised rent to us on the remaining share. It makes buying a home more affordable if you’re unable to buy a home at full market value.


Buying a percentage of the property means you’ll have a smaller deposit and smaller mortgage to pay, because they’re only based on your share of the home’s purchase price, not the total cost.
