At CHP, we exist to meet local housing need in whatever form that takes.

We own and manage over 10,700 homes and provide services for more than 27,000 customers in the eastern region of England. Many of our homes are for social and affordable rent, but we also have an extensive range of shared ownership properties available as part of our affordable homes programme, helping buyers on to the property ladder.

As a locally based housing association in Essex, we’re here to provide homes for people who need them.Choosing a home is one of the most important decisions you’ll make during your lifetime – and it can also be one of the most exciting.

We provide homes where people feel comfortable, safe, secure and can make the most of their lives. We create environments that support the growth of strong communities and provide opportunities to help people thrive.

Shared ownership is a part-buy, part-rent homeownership scheme, backed by the Government. You can usually buy as little as 35% or as much as 75% of a property and then pay a subsidised rent to us on the remaining share. It makes buying a home more affordable if you’re unable to buy a home at full market value.

Buying a percentage of the property means you’ll have a smaller deposit and smaller mortgage to pay, because they’re only based on your share of the home’s purchase price, not the total cost.

Our dedicated shared ownership sales executives are available weekdays to discuss the range of wonderful opportunities we have across the county of Essex.

At the heart of what we do, we make sure that the homes we provide are warm, safe and sustainable. And if we get something wrong, we do what we can to fix it as quickly as possible. But we don’t stop there. We care about the people who live in our homes, and their communities, so we support both and do much more than provide bricks and mortar. If you’re looking for a new home, or to transition from renting to homeownership, we are here to help.
